Mel Blanc with David Letterman

My thanks to my buddy Charlie Glaize for emailing me this remarkable piece of television history. This is from 1981 or thereabouts.

  1. The king, no doubt about it. Mel did it all.

    The best part about that clip, though, is Letterman interviewing Mel. David always said interviewing guests was the hardest part of his job and it really showed in that clip.

    Fast forward to late in the Late Night run and then certainly into Late Show and he really has evolved well as an interviewer.
