Should Liz have a blog

My friend Liz de Nesnera has been a frequent commenter on this blog for some time now. She’s also a very gifted voiceover talent, as you can clearly hear in her demos, right there on the front page of her web site. In the comments to a recent post, it was suggested more than once that Liz would be a natural to start her own voiceover blog.

Register your vote, yes or no, in the comments to this thread. You’re also welcome to suggest some possible blog names, and sites and/or software that she can use. (As you might be able to tell, I’m rather partial to WordPress, but it’s not for everyone. There’s also WordPress.com, where you can host your blog free.)

  2. Liz,

Let’s just see how it all comes out. Maybe Ralph and I are wrong and there isn’t a groundswell of interest in reading what you have to say. I don’t think we’re wrong, but we’ll see.

    Be well,
    Bob

  3. That’s a no brainer. Liz must get a blog.

  4. You are right “Seahawk Jeff”! (Hope we beat Green Bay Saturday!). Liz must do it – OR switch her hockey allegiance from the New York Rangers to the Buffalo Sabres:)

    Comment by Ralph Hass — January 11, 2008 @ 2:34 am

  5. Buffalo??????? Never! ;-)

..althought after 18 years in NJ…I DO love the Devils…Marty is such an amazing goalie…so I never knew who to root for when the Rangers played the Devils before, but NOW with Scotty Gomez on Tex’s team, I’m really torn!

(….are we off the “Liz needs a blog” subject yet?)

  6. Liz,

So far, it’s unanimous that you need to start a blog. (Your vote and mine don’t count.) If you want this vote to tip in the other direction, you’re going to need to recruit some people to offer votes in opposition.

And no, we’re not off that subject yet!

    Be well,
    Bob

  7. Liz,

Blogs are great therapy! I use mine as my post-morning-radio-show outlet for thoughts. It’s worth it, and I’d love to read what you have to say!

I use Blogspot. It was easy to set up, and they have great templates to match your site.

  9. Peter,

I can’t tell. Should this count as three yes votes? Or three no votes?

  10. Like Kara, I use Blogspot. It is available in 40 languages…I think Liz knows most of them:)
The latest are Arabic, Persian and Hebrew.

  11. Ralph,

Thank you for the additional vote. I think we can safely conclude it’s unanimous. Liz needs to start a blog.

So, dear lady, since we both know you’ve confessed elsewhere that you spend a significant part of our day online anyway, you might as well be using at least part of that time to blog, don’t you think?

    Be well,
    Bob

    Get it?….nahhhh…maybe not! ;-)

    Peace!

  15. Liz,

I think I get it. Frog = rude English expression for the French. You speak both languages fluently. Hmmm?

  17. OK…IF…and I do mean IF I start a blog (oh jeez you guys are wearing me down!!!)… What should the title be???

    Here my specs:

    - I am bilingual – English/French
    - I am a female VO artist (also a caregiver)
    - I love the ‘net
    - I’m an information junkie – I love all info on marketing, new trends, I’m a collector of all types of books on VO, marketing, time management (yeah I do really well on THAT, spending all my time on line!), entrepreneurship, leadership, customer service….

So? smart people that you are: What should I NAME this hypothetical blog of mine?

    Might I suggest:
    http://HigherWithLiz.blogspot.com
It ties in with your website and takes things to a “higher” level.
    I await my prize!:)

  27. Hi Bob,
You are NOT a “troublemaker of the first rank.”:)
I said “second” in my post as I felt I had to take responsibility for razzin’ Liz…

    Take care!
