New digs for Doug

At the Marice Tobias Promo/Trailer workshop I attended in New York City in November 2007, one of the guys I met for the first time there was Doug Medlock. Doug has worked in radio for many years and is just one of those guys with such an amazing load of talent you can’t help but be impressed with him as soon as you meet him.

Doug emailed me yesterday to let me know that he’s launched a new web site. It looks great. His demos sound amazing. (I knew they would.) Good for you, Doug. Thanks for letting me know.

  1. Doug’s website is great! Times have changed in the voice over industry. Doug is a perfect example. He’s represented in two regions. These days we have to expand our reach and his demo is top notch.

Once again Bob, you are the leading example of a true networker! Always willing to talk up talent. You’ve inspired me to do the same.

  2. Tracy,

Thank you for your very kind comments. Here’s a behind-the-scenes example of how this networking thing goes.

When I flew up to New York for the Marice Tobias workshop in November (where I met Doug for the first time), I needed a ride into Manhattan from La Guardia airport in Queens. Liz de Nesnera (whose new voiceover blog I mentioned in another post recently) was kind enough to help me out with a ride. Liz then joined me and two other voiceover friends, Patrick O’Connor and Melissa Exelberth, for a delightful couple of hours of conversation before we all had to head our separate ways for the night.

People helping people. Friends helping friends.

    Be well,
    Bob
