Bob,

I'm with you. I'm fortunate that I live in a quiet neighborhood with very little road traffic or other noise.

I have treated my walls with acoustic foam and my computer is in a closet adjacent to my studio. The room noise is really minimal and I've had no complaints from clients.

I enjoy reading your blog.

All the best,

Larry

Terry,

No, I don't think a voice over booth is required, assuming that background noise and room noise aren't a problem in the space where you have your microphone.

By the way, I too work in front of my computer screen the majority of the time, but my computer is actually in another room and I've treated my studio room to avoid reflections and standing waves that hurt the quality of the sound.

Thanks for your comments. I too would like to see comments from others about your work environment.

Be well,
Bob

Do you really NEED a voice over booth to do your recordings? I mean, I don't have one, I just do my voice overs right in front of my computer with a regular mic...

I would be interested to hear what other voice over artists are doing!
