Bettye,

Thank you for your very kind comments. I don't live in NYC or LA either, so I totally get how it feels to live outside those major markets. In fact, I'm going to be on a panel at VOICE 2010 to talk about my experience of making a living in voiceover outside one of the major markets.

I'm sure we'll get together at one of your workshops, soon. No need to invite me to co-teach with you. I love to keep learning.

Be well,
Bob

Bob I would indeed love to have you at one of my seminars in the future and as a co-teacher, that would be even more fabulous. Perhaps sometime we can get our schedules to coordinate! Meanwhile, know that your work on the internet with your BOBLOG etc. is fabulous and I'm a huge fan. Here in the "hinterlands" of Texas, we try to keep an eye on LA and NYC where the industry thrives. Fortunately for me, I do voice for major agency clients on both coasts and have experienced the advertising agency side of voice work. Many have not. So, even though I don't live on the coasts, I have the "feel" and the "knowledge" but miss being there day to day. I've spent quite a bit of time in LA and NYC but it's not the same as being able to take part in so much, have dinner with friends, socialize, etc. It's lonely back here sometimes and I miss it. So your blog and your writings on various sites are always great to read and give me a "taste" of what I miss. Let me know if I can be of help sometime. Thank You. Bettye

Hi Bettye,

Thanks for your comments and for the details about what you're planning in Philadelphia in June. I'm just sorry that I'm in Pittsburgh at the other end of the state and probably won't be able to be there.

Be well,
Bob

Rowell,

I do believe you have guessed correctly. If you are able to make it, my one sorrow is that we won't be able to drive to this one together.

Be well,
Bob

Bettye Zoller is introducting her new roundtable concept in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon and evening June 6 at the Westin Hotel. 2-6 Roundtable Reads and Career Discussions. Dinner. 6-8 Evening Roundtable. ONLY SIX MAY ATTEND and must be approved before enrolllment. My seminar also will be concerned with today's read and what the new dry read and other approaches are doing to our voiceover business. It's what it's always been...a reaction to the old means something new happene and advertising has always wanted the new as a reversal, a change to what used to be done. Nothing's new under the sun, but we do indeed need to learn the 21st century read. In fact, I did a podcast on this subject for www.voiceoverxtra.com nearly one year ago. Those interested in attending Philadelphia need to email me recorded samples of their work and short bio in email. btzol@aol.com
