Bob, thank you for directing me to this post, it more than answered my question! It is so rare to find someone so candid and willing to share their insights and missed opportunities. I love the tie in with dreams. I often find myself staring down the barrel of decisions and letting fear or anxiety choose the road instead of ambition and adventure. It's something I'm working on because as you've so clearly pointed out here, anxiety can be crippling, it can rob us of opportunities.

Many thanks Bob.

I agree with Karen ... postings about YOU hold a special significance ... especially this one.

This post reveals your intimate spirituality, your commitment as a spouse and father and how they all intertwine into the fabric of your career as a talented voice over artist.

Whenever you approach the microphone with your calming, velvet voice we the listeners are left with a bit of YOU.

And isn't that exactly the direction the great Marice Tobias and Nancy Wolfson have pointed us in?

Congratulations Bob, you are living your dream.

Greetings, Bob! Thank you so much for sharing this in-depth analysis of your journey. While your usual postings which point to others' work are enjoyable and interesting, I want to encourage you to do more pieces like this one where we learm about and from YOU.

Until you made the switch last year, I never would have known that you worked at voiceover as a part-time job. It's encouraging to those of us who still have it as a part-time job to know that it eventually can become our sole source of work.

I often have been acutely aware that, like you, I have traded creative but uncertain work for security. That fact used to bother me; I felt like I somehow "didn't measure up" since I don't depend on voiceover work to provide my sustenance. I know now that kind of thinking is truly an act of self-sabotage. As you have shown, someone with patience and persistence will find that their eventual voiceover career can become bigger and better than they ever dreamed possible -- no matter how long it takes.

While you may feel you missed opportunities, I think that we are where we are supposed to be. Our desires are fulfilled with divine timing. If you had made a different choice at any point, your life might not be as good as it is now.

Thanks again for the thought-provoking story, and best wishes for your continued health, prosperity, and success!

Cordially,
Karen Commins
