Yes, the look of things has changed again. Since my favorite theme keeps getting broken every time WordPress issues a security update, I’ve launched a search for a replacement theme. This seems to fit the bill for the time being.
Meanwhile, if you’re interested, here’s an update on the massive Bible podcast project I’m working on. We’ve completed recording Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Isaiah, Lamentations, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zechariah, the first half of Genesis and the first two-thirds of Jeremiah.
The reason we’re skipping around has mostly to do with cataloging official pronunciations of many of the people and place names that have to be done right, but for which we weren’t able to find definitive information right at the start of our project.
So, we’re making progress. Ultimately, this has been quite a humbling experience, mainly because if I ever thought I was good at reading long, complicated passages of narration without mistakes, I don’t think so anymore. But, at the same time, it’s a great learning experience.

what? what??? does this mean you won’t be doing an encore with the encyclopedia britanica?????
myself, i have trouble reading to my kids from those old “Big Little Books” from the 1930s and 40s.
and condolences on the loss of your web log template. i’m just now finding out how hard it is to piece one of these together if you don’t write code.
“new and improved!” strikes again….
glad to see you’re overcoming both challenges.

Rowell,
No, I don’t think I’ll be hired anytime soon to read the encyclopedia, for any publisher! Yes, templates can be a bear, but when you get them to work, they’re really cool.
Thanks for the very kind comments. The best to you, too.
Be well,
Bob

Hi Bob,
What translation are you reading? I can’t find Provers:)
Wondering what the word count is for the Bible? 775, 000 or so?
Take care!

Ralph,
Thanks for helping me fix the typo on Proverbs. Even though I know you were just kidding, the answer is The New King James Version, which is published by Thomas Nelson, the company for whom this recording is being done. Oh, and the estimate I read was 774,000 words.
Be well,
Bob

As I read this post aloud to my husband, I stumbled on a few words. Whew!
You are my hero for making it through 774,000 words!! My goal is to one day
read audiobooks for children. I think I’ll stick to ‘one fish, two fish’!!
Bob says
Kara,
Thank you for your nice comment. But, you should hear how poorly I do sometimes. There are some chapters where I literally have to do a re-take on every verse. I’m so glad the producer and editor are extremely patient men. 🙂
Be well,
Bob
Doc says
Well, Bob, it’s nice to know that I’m not the only one rebuilding my WordPress theme which got hosed during one of those updates. Problem is, I neglected to save the template after creation. And it was a lot of work making it appear to be compatible to my web site. Oh well… as they say, “C’est la vie”!
🙂
Bob says
Doc,
My best to you as you rebuild. Yes, I don’t think I’m every going to be able to go back to my favorite theme, so I’m just doing what I can with what’s available and making the best of it.
Your experience reminds me, though, that actually doing a back-up is the key to recovering. Thinking about it does no good at all. 🙂
Be well,
Bob
