Many times when you’re reading copy, you need to check the length of what you’ve just read. Especially for commercial or promo copy. My friend Charlie Glaize emailed me a few days ago with a terrific web site that might help you out the next time you need a stopwatch and don’t have one handy.

Thank you for the link. I have a friend who was my mentor in radio and is now setting up a studio in his home. He was asking about the countdown stop watch and this is the perfect solution. His next complaint are mixers not having “proper” VU meters. I have to agree. Except mine would have to be adjusted to “peg” the right side just to make me feel comfortable.
Bob says
Bill,
I agree. This is an amazingly useful tool, as long as one has access to the Internet.
As for pegging the old meters, I’ve been known to do that a time or 2 myself. Nothing like that distinctive click when the VU needles bounce off the right side of the meters.
Be well,
Bob
