Blue, a company that’s gained a pretty good reputation for their microphones, is coming out with a new device they call the Icicle. You’ll find a quick preview, including a phote, on the Engadget site.
My thanks to my friend Jeff Stitt for posting the link to this article on the VO-BB.

Hmmm… worth a try at that price!
I wonder if the MicPort Pro’s price will now drop… it should!

Anthony,
Yes, very modestly priced. And I hope you’re right, it would be nice to see a drop in the prices of other units. Though the MicPort Pro does 24-bit audio and this Icicle will only do 16-bit.
Be well,
Bob

That little MicPort Pro would be hard to beat. I have heard files recorded using them and they sound great. Harlan Hogan even uses one on the road. I haven’t used the Blue offering yet of course but I would probably pony up the extra few bucks for the CEntrance.

Erik,
I’ve heard nothing but good things about the CEntrance MicPort Pro, too. It will be interesting to see this Blue offering compared with the other units out there, head to head.
Be well,
Bob

This is quite a nifty idea. Very good for saving some of that space on my desk.
