Yesterday singer, dancer and actress Eartha Kitt passed away at the age of 81. You’ll find a great write-up about her and her contributions to the world of voiceover in this article at Big Cartoon Forum. My thanks to my friend Moe Egan for posting the links on the VO-BB.

Ah, indeed she will be missed.
I used to rep her for animation in the late ’90s.
I’ll never forget the time I took a date to go hear her perform at the Roosevelt Hotel…
During several songs in her set, she plucked my date out of the audience and flirted with him brazenly to the point of curling up in his lap while singing the closing number.
Welles’s Helen of Troy indeed possessed “champagne taste”; he was a gorgeous Italian businessman in his late twenties.
And tho it rattled me a bit at the time, I came away with renewed respect for that feline diva who still managed to stir up that level of hot jealousy at seventy something years old.
