She wasn’t as well known as Don LaFontaine or Brian James, but Connie Zimet was a great voice talent. Based in Florida, she’s been battling ALS the last few years, and lost her stuggle with that disease two days ago. I learned the news this evening through Linda Bruno’s blog post on Voiceover Universe.
Update: The Miami Herald has a wonderful obituary tribute to Connie in Friday’s paper. My thanks to Zurek and his Voiceover Universe for the link to the story.

Wow. A heartbreaking month in our VO community, Bob. Our shared love for the magic of the spoken word bonds us all so closely that it often feels like we’re saying goodbye to family.
Connie was really talented.

Joe,
Yes she was. And I agree. It feels like we’ve taken a couple of serious losses in the family. It feels that way because we have. Thank you for stopping by and commenting.
Be well,
Bob

I’m so sorry to hear of our loss. Connie was a friend and mentor, and an incredibly talented woman.
She leaves behind an equally talented son, Zach. He and his wife Jodi are in my thoughts today.
