I’ve been asked quite a few times in the last several years for the secret to success in voiceover. My answer is simple. But first, watch this little video from Tom Peters. (My thanks to my friend Ed Hunter for sending me the link to this video.)
So, my answer for the secret to success in voiceover? Don’t quit.

Thanks Bob…good stuff!!
Amen. Thanks Bob!
There’s a huge difference between COMPETENCE and CONFIDENCE. Not only does the “Don’t quit” advice focus on what we don’t want. It only addresses the confidence factor in our success.
Determination is important, but it needs to be backed up by talent, training, experience, resources and business acumen.
Thanks, Bob.
Peace!
Liz
Good one, Bob–thanks for posting.
Oh, and if you’re in voiceover, I agree with Paul. A good teacher can be an invaluable resource in this crazy business.
Great advice! To badly paraphrase Randy Pausch “walls are there to keep out people who don’t want it badly enough” – I love that quote.
Great Blog by the way, I’m a new reader.
