SurePay

General

Stephanie and David over at Voices.com are introducing something new, and in my opinion something truly wonderful, with the latest updates to their service. It’s called SurePay. You can read Stephanie’s extensive description of the service here. And in the comment thread beneath you’ll find a number of posts from David answer questions and offering further clarifications.

Indeed this looks like a great step for Voices.com in providing increased value and service to their clients. As a VO producer and CEO of an organization that has developed more than 4000 aspiring voice professionals I am still not completely comfortable directly recommending resources like Voices or 123 to our clients. One issue has been a lack of clear disclosure that most of the posted work opportunities on these sites require the Voice Actor to act as producer and engineer, and deliver a finished product to the client. I spoke to 123 about this and they are making a change in their next version to clearly explain this to prospective clients of their site. I did phone Voices to get some information about them as a possible resource for our clients around the country, and, unforunately, my call was never returned.
The fact remains however, that Sure Pay is a great idea and a nice piece of added client service from Voices.
I strongly suggest to anyone thinking about using a site like these to understand it will work best as a “component” of your marketing. Don’t compltely rely on web based voice talent sites, rely on your own imagination and initiative.
    Cheers!

    Thanks Bob
And BTW, it turns out David at Voices had tried to reach me and my “worldclass” front end person must have been in super call screening mode!
I spoke with David this afternoon and he is informative, upbeat, and clearly proud of his organization and their dedication to their clients. Very impressive!

    David,
I’m not surprised that the folks at Voices.com have made sure they got in touch with you. They’ve always been very communicative with me.
Thanks even more for coming back and leaving another comment. That’s a classy thing to do.
    Be well,
    Bob
