I knew when I took on the project of recording the entire Bible for a podcast to be released later this year by Thomas Nelson Publishers that I was going to have some days that would be more challenging than others. Today was one of those days.
Just as an update, we’ve completed everything from Psalms through the end of the Old Testament, and yesterday finished up the Books of Moses and got started on Joshua. We made really great progress through the first several chapters. And then we ran into chapter 15, specifically from the 20 verse through verse 63, or the end of the chapter. Just how challenging? Read for yourself. (I should note, what follows is from the New King James Version, copyright is held by Thomas Nelson Publishers.)
20 This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families:
21 The cities at the limits of the tribe of the children of Judah, toward the border of Edom in the South, were Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,

48 And in the mountain country: Shamir, Jattir, Sochoh,

63 As for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.
Thomas Nelson Publishers has an official pronunciation for every one of those names and places, and yes, they all have to be said correctly. Needless to say, it took a while. Of course, I love working on difficult projects, so it was great fun at the same time that it was a great challenge.
