The Don on Free Radio

General, People

My friend Anna Vocino is one of the stars of a new television series on VH1 called Free Radio. A guest on the program for one episode is Don LaFontaine. Anna emails me to say you can find the list of the showtimes on the VH1 website. And while you’re there, check out the bonus content from the episode that you won’t see on the air.

Thanks so much for posting this, Bob! Being a voice over gal, I was more nervous about working with Don than any of our other guests–but of course, he was amazing and up for anything Lance could dish out. And what a treat to hear his voice through the headphones the entire time–especially when we had him read the trailers.
    Bestest-

Too funny! Anna, how scripted is your show?
Sounds like everyone is completely off-the-cuff.
Thanks for sharing Bob! Hope you’re well.

    Joe,
Yes, all is well. Thank you. And Anna, I too would like to know how extensive was the scripting?
    Be well,
    Bob

The interviews are completely improvised–no prepping of the stars b/c we wanted honest reactions! However, the guests did know that this was a comedy show, so they knew to expect some degree of hijinx to ensue…
Glad y’all are liking the show!

Thanks for the link Bob and the details Anna. Is it improv for the hosts too or just the guests? I’ll have to set my Tivo!

    James,
I don’t know the answer for sure about whether the show was improv, but I do know that Anna is an improv genius. So, it wouldn’t surprise me if that was the case for the show as a whole.
    Be well,
    Bob
