A peek behind the curtain

General, People

My friend Philip Banks has posted a brief video of his work in his voiceover booth.

I thoroughly enjoyed that.

Update: For those interesting in Mr. Banks’ microphone technique, you might want to read through this article from Mix Magazine. My thanks to my friend Bill Ballenberg for posting the link to this article on th VO-BB.

Bob, I was shocked to see how far away from the mic he is…interesting.

    Brian,
His microphone technique is interesting, a testament to how excellent his room, his voice and his microphone.
    Be well,
    Bob

Yes, if his room is completely dead, he would be able to boost the gain without issue.

Although, I wonder if it would not be warmer/fuller if he was a bit closer? Well, he knows what he needs to sound like…I’m certainly no authority on it. He sure has a powerful voice.

    Brian,
Yes, Philip has a wonderfully powerful voice. Given the very little I know about how much Philip works, I think no one is complaining about the sound.
    Be well,
    Bob
