A Preamp journey

General

My friend Zurek (founder of the fabulous Voiceover Universe) has documented his exploration of a new preamp for his narration work. There are four steps, at least so far, on this journey. Part one. Part two. Part three. And finally, part four. Enjoy.

    Hi, Bob.
For those interested in hearing preamps before buying, Lynn Fuston has put together a shootout CD at
    http://www.3daudioinc.com/3daudio_prelp.html –
Note that there are also mic shootout CDs and others available on this site.
I personally like my Millennia Media HV-3 a lot. After many years of configuring and reconfiguring my mic chain, I’ve decided that a clean front end is what I want. If you want to add coloration later you can, but if you start with a colored pre, it’s difficult to un-color the sound if necessary afterwards.
    Have a happy Easter, everyone.

    Dan,
An excellent resource. Thank you for adding that link to the comments.
    Be well,
    Bob
