With thanks to my friend Dan Nachtrab for posting the link on the VO-BB, here is trailer number 1 for “I Know That Voice”, coming soon:
You can find an opportunity to make a difference every day, if you just take a moment to look. For example, my friend Andy Boyns has written a blog post I hope you’ll visit and to which I hope you’ll respond.
My friend Rob Ellis is the voiceover of the narrator for this delightful commercial:
Forwarded to me by Stacey Stahl of Creative Entertainment Managment, and well worth a few minutes of contemplation:
Our friends don’t love us for what we do, they love us for who we are (hint, the same is true for customers, clients and employees). — Simon Sinek
My friend Donovan Corneetz narrates this piece on NCAA football.
A very Happy Father’s Day to you and all the fathers you know. It’s been a wonderful such day here at our home. Also, ran across this quote today that I just had to share:
“We do not so much need the help of our friends as the confidence of their help in need.”
-– Epicurus
I try not to spend too much time talking about myself on this blog, but this time I just have to. My favorite kind of voiceover job is narrating documentaries, so it is with great joy that I share this wonderful video with you, the story of the Fort Peck Dam. The documentary was produced by Montana PBS.
Watch Fort Peck Dam on PBS. See more from KUSM.

In a recent blog post, Seth Godin offers a fabulous insight about how to keep your voiceover business moving. You have a choice every day. You can either feel bad about the audition that you didn’t book, or jealous of all the work so-and-so friend on Facebook is always posting about.
Or you can begin preparing today for what you have to do so that tomorrow you are doing the work that you want to be doing.
Which is it going to be?

Nancy Wolfson provides a cogent, actionable list of steps for you.
Helen Lloyd’s voiceover blog is now added to my blogroll.
I just ran across a posting of a commercial I recorded a year ago for the Denver market.
CyberKnife: Jimmy from Citizen Pictures on Vimeo.
Citizen Pictures is thrilled to be working with Denver CyberKnife to create awareness about this non-invasive, pain-free cancer treatment.
Seth Godin, as you probably know, is a first class writer about business and marketing. His insights are worth your attention every day, but I especially want to point out his blog post from a few days ago called “A hierarchy of business to business needs.” Think about what you’re doing when you’re selling your voiceover services. Are you selling to consumers? Almost never, right? You’re nearly always selling to a business and much of the time, not to the owner of that business.
In light of Seth’s list, linked above, how do you need to adapt your marketing messages?

My friend Doug Turkel has just released an eBook called Voices of Experience. Doug provided me with an advance copy and I have to tell you, I think this is a seriously first class book with wonderful insights from a number of very experienced voice actors. I think you will enjoy this eBook, Voices of Experience, a great deal. I sure am.
(Update: This was supposed to post a few days ago, but my blog software decided to hold it until now. Computers are wonderful, when they work. Otherwise, not so much.)
